Web Workload Generation According to the UniLoG Approach
نویسندگان
چکیده
Generating synthetic loads which are sufficiently close to reality represents an important and challenging task in performance and quality-of-service (QoS) evaluations of computer networks and distributed systems. Here, the load to be generated represents sequences of requests at a well-defined service interface within a network node. The paper presents a tool (UniLoG.HTTP) which can be used in a flexible manner to generate realistic and representative server and network loads, in terms of access requests to Web servers as well as creation of typical Web traffic within a communication network. The paper describes the architecture of this load generator, the critical design decisions and solution approaches which allowed us to obtain the desired flexibility. 1998 ACM Subject Classification C.2.2 [Computer Communication Networks]: Network Protocols – HTTP; C.2.3 [Computer Communication Networks]: Network Operations – Network management; C.2.4 [Computer Communication Networks]: Distributed Systems – Distributed applications; C.4 [Performance of Systems]: Measurement techniques, Modeling techniques, Performance attributes; G.3 [Probability and Statistics]: Distribution functions, Experimental design, Stochastic processes; I.6.5 [Simulation and Modeling]: Model Development – Modeling methodologies.

A Model for Web Workload Generation Based on Content Classification
Web server performance is tightly bound to the workload the server has to support. Therefore, understanding the nature of the server workload is particularly important in capacity planning and overload control of Web servers. Web performance analysis can be done, a priori, with a synthetic generation of Web system workload. However, performance analysis results depend on the accuracy of this wo...
متن کاملHOL based Universal Reasoning
At Unilog’2010 I have proposed classical higher-order logic HOL (Church’s type theory [1,9]) as a uniform framework for combining logics [2]. The main claim has been that many non-classical logics are just natural (embedded) fragments of classical HOL. The approach also supports combinations (e.g. fusions) of embedded logics; in particular, bridge rules can be postulated simply as axioms. In th...

The Spurt is led to increasing the workload for software engineers in context of producing reliable software. Given the importance of producing high quality software, software engineers created an independent process in cycle of software development that called Software Testing. One of the software testing methods that a lot of researches have been done on it is Mutation Testing. Most of the re...
متن کاملData Extraction using Content-Based Handles
In this paper, we present an approach and a visual tool, called HWrap (Handle Based Wrapper), for creating web wrappers to extract data records from web pages. In our approach, we mainly rely on the visible page content to identify data regions on a web page. In our extraction algorithm, we inspired by the way a human user scans the page content for specific data. In particular, we use text fea...
متن کاملA new synthetic web server trace generation methodology
We propose a new synthetic trace generation methodology for web server performance benchmarking. We discuss the two primary existing approaches to synthetic trace generation in terms of queueing models. We propose a new methodology as the natural combination of these two approaches. This hybrid approach permits natural modeling of client content and server session caching as well as a natural c...
